Job Title: Utility Locate Technician
SUMMARY:
The Utility Locator is responsible for the correct, safe and efficient locating and marking of underground utilities. The Utility Locator is responsible for Damage Prevention.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
-To perform locates according to the Standard Operating Procedures of the company. This includes taking the time to thoroughly search for underground plant in an area, to properly mark the location, to complete the necessary paperwork, and to photograph each locate.
-Thoroughly review tickets prior to and following all utility locates.
-Organize daily ticket routing to achieve maximum efficiency
-Operate company vehicles in a safe and law abiding manner while using Defensive Driving Safety practices
-Insure proper maintenance and security of company vehicles and locating equipment
-Maintain updated prints in accordance with Company standards
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Possess a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report.
-Must be able to read a map.

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move (e.g. manhole covers or similar items) as required by the particular job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
